Cardiology Experts Convened at Istinye University for ACS25

The 12th Symposium of Advanced Cardiovascular Solutions (ACS), focusing on innovative and specialized practices in interventional cardiology, was held at İstinye University’s Vadi Campus. Now recognized as one of Turkey’s most prominent scientific events, ACS attracted more than a thousand participants both in person and online from across Turkey and abroad. The symposium featured live case presentations showcasing cutting-edge approaches in interventional cardiology and arrhythmia treatment.

ACS25 Opened with a Keynote from Prof. Dr. Alp Burak Çatakoğlu

The symposium began with a keynote address by Prof. Dr. Alp Burak Çatakoğlu, a cardiologist at Liv Hospital, who remarked:
“ACS25, now in its twelfth edition, is once again a bold and intensive meeting dedicated to cardiology. I believe it will continue productively over the next two days.”

20 Sessions Featuring National and International Expertise

ACS25’s organizing committee included Prof. Dr. Alp Burak Çatakoğlu and Prof. Dr. Enis Oğuz from Liv Hospital, alongside Prof. Dr. Mehmet Vefik Yazıcıoğlu, nephrology specialist Prof. Dr. Süleyman Tevfik Ecder, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Batur Gönenç Kanar, and Dr. Ayşegül Karahan. The symposium consisted of 20 sessions, featuring live connections with scientists from Germany and Canada, adding global perspective to the discussions.

Live Surgery Session Engaged Experts in Real Time

A session titled “Are Calcified Arteries High-Risk? Safe Intervention with Orbital Atherectomy” featured a live procedure performed by Prof. Dr. Alp Burak Çatakoğlu. Broadcasted simultaneously to attendees, the session examined the use of orbital atherectomy—a specialized technique for treating severely calcified arteries. Experts discussed when this method should be applied, how it works, and its clinical outcomes.

“We’re Hosting the 12th Edition of This Comprehensive Event”

Highlighting the significance of the ACS symposium, Prof. Dr. Alp Burak Çatakoğlu stated:
“This is the 12th year we’re organizing this event. Each year, we aim to solve complex cases using advanced technologies. With the continuous evolution of innovative techniques, we are now able to treat heart conditions that were once untreatable. ACS provides a collaborative platform where we tackle these challenges together. This symposium is not only about using technology but also about paving the way for developing new ones. It’s a broad event that brings together cardiologists and engineers alike.”
