The Department of Basic Sciences organized a Local Infrastructure and R&D Workshop on Particle Accelerators and Detectors.

Istinye University Department of Basic Sciences organized the “Particle Accelerators and Detectors Local Infrastructure and R&D” Workshop on November 30 – December 1, 2024. The workshop was held in memory of the esteemed scientist Prof. Dr. Engin Arık, who dedicated his life to advocating for Turkey’s full membership in CERN and, together with his team, designed and established Turkey’s first Muon Telescope. The hybrid workshop, conducted both in-person and online, provided valuable insights and evaluations regarding the local R&D activities on particle accelerators and detectors, as well as the existing and planned infrastructure facilities for their establishment.
