On September 3, 2025, an analysis was conducted using the Incites database and Web of Science (WOS) publications to identify the top 60 universities in Turkey with the highest number of scientific publications in 2024. The ranking was based on the proportion of articles published in Q1 journals.
At the top of the list stood Istinye University with a Q1 ratio of 56.2%, followed by Bogazici University (54.7%) in second place and Koc University (52.0%) in third.
Multi-Dimensional Academic Performance Indicators
The analysis went beyond Q1 publications alone. It also examined the Q2 (top 25–50%) publication ratios, the share of publications in the top 10% percentile, the proportion of internationally co-authored articles, and the rate of open access publications. In addition, the overall ranking of the top 60 universities with the highest number of publications in 2024 was included in the evaluation.
