Istinye University, one of Turkey’s most innovative and visionary educational institutions, marked its 10th anniversary with a meaningful ceremony. Attended by faculty members, students, alumni, business representatives, and stakeholders, the event highlighted the university’s achievements over its first decade and its strong goals for the future. Speakers emphasized that Istinye University is not just an educational institution, but also a structure that contributes to society, produces science, and builds the future.
“For 10 Years, We Have Been Educating Generations That Will Shape the Future”
In his speech at the ceremony, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Muharrem Usta reflected on the founding motivation and the forward-looking vision of the university:
“For the past 10 years, we at İstinye University have taken pride in educating generations that will shape the future under the light of science. Istinye University was founded as an institution with a core principle of contributing to society. With a vision of adding meaning to life, we will continue to create value for a brighter future.”
Rector Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş emphasized the university’s core values in his address:
“Istinye University celebrates its 10th year with a vision that aspires to excellence, grounded in ethics, human values, and the consciousness of a next-generation university.”
President of the 21st Century Anatolian Foundation, Dr. Adem Elbaşı, highlighted the university’s visionary development in a short time:
“Together with Istinye University, and thanks to the dedicated efforts of all our stakeholders and scientists, we have completed a fulfilling decade that has advanced our country. Here’s to many more decades that will make a difference!”
Awarding Those Who Make a Difference with Their Achievements
As part of the event, Honorary Doctorate Certificates were presented to Prof. Dr. Mutlu Özcan and Prof. Dr. Yaşar Bilgin for their outstanding contributions to the university and to science. “Award-Winning Istinye Members” certificates were given to Assoc. Prof. Ayça Bal Öztürk from the Faculty of Pharmacy, recipient of the TÜBA 2024 Outstanding Young Scientist Award, and Prof. Dr. Meral Beksaç from the Faculty of Medicine, who received the TÜBİTAK 2024 Service Award. In addition, long-serving employees who have been with the university since its founding and completed 10 years of service were honored with special certificates.
The ceremony concluded with a concert by one of Turkey’s most beloved artists, Cem Adrian. This special day, which brought together academic success, social responsibility, and art, also underscored Istinye University’s vision for the future.
