Science, Music, and Global Collaboration Share the Same Stage
İstinye University hosted an inspiring event where science and art came together. The program titled “Sound Beyond Borders: Music, STEM & the Global TD Orchestra” brought together creative ideas from various disciplines, musical performances, and cultural interactions.
A Collaboration Spanning from the U.S. to Turkey
The event featured guest academics and artists from leading universities around the world, especially from the United States. Organized in cooperation with the Turkish American Association, it served as an important part of projects aimed at building academic and cultural bridges between Turkey and the U.S. This special gathering inspired students interested in studying in America and provided an interdisciplinary interaction environment supporting international cooperation.
The Importance of Interdisciplinary Work Highlighted
One of the special guests, Tatsuya Daniel, founder of the TD Orchestra, shared his vision and global work at the event. A MIT graduate currently pursuing a PhD in physics at Brown University, Daniel explained their goal of creating global unity through the universal language of music. He spoke about projects carried out by The Tatsuya Daniel (TD) Orchestra in 14 countries across six continents and emphasized to young people the importance of interdisciplinary thinking and the convergence of science and art. The TD Orchestra’s performance, which included a variety of musical genres, was one of the event’s most inspiring moments.
Harmony of STEM and Art
Throughout the program, innovative projects in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) combined with the creative power of music. The TD Orchestra’s stage performance offered the audience a unique experience not only through music but also via engineering, digital technology, and visual storytelling techniques.
The event strongly exemplified İstinye University’s international vision, aiming to nurture globally minded, creative, and versatile individuals. Participants had the chance to listen to knowledge and experiences from diverse fields, while young students gained valuable networking opportunities for their future career goals.
