Beamline for Schools Competition Information Session

A Chance to Experience the Future Today with the World’s Leading Laboratories: Beamline for Schools Competition Information Session Held at Istinye University

An informational training session on the Beamline for Schools (BL4S) competition, jointly organized by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the German National Accelerator Laboratory (DESY), was conducted by the Science and Technology Communication Coordination Office at Istinye University.

As part of the competition, high school students with a keen interest in science and engineering, who will shape the future of scientific research, will gain the necessary knowledge to think like real scientists. With this high level of motivation, they will prepare their project proposals while competing with their peers from around the world.

Prof. Dr. Serkant Ali Çetin, Science and Technology Communication Coordinator at Istinye University and the national contact person for the Beamline for Schools (BL4S) competition, shared insights about the competition organized in partnership with CERN and DESY, as well as the information session held at Istinye University:

“With fundamental research in experimental particle physics, we aim to advance our understanding of the universe. Large-scale experimental infrastructures like CERN and DESY serve as the breeding grounds for today’s and tomorrow’s technologies. Here, we encourage young individuals who have the courage and determination to dive in—investing in the future in the most solid way possible.”
