An event organized by the Graphic Design Program was held on November 21, 2025, at Topkapı Campus, TKZ09, with the participation of Cihan Çetinkaya, Graphic Design Department Manager at LC Waikiki. During the talk, Çetinkaya shared both his professional journey at LC Waikiki and the dynamics of today’s design world with the students. Addressing what can be done to adapt more quickly to the industry in the field of graphic design, he emphasized that strong communication skills are just as critical as technical competence and design knowledge. He also highlighted that design is not limited to aesthetics; factors such as teamwork, problem-solving, and accurate brief analysis are essential elements that determine professional success.

The Right Portfolio Is Built Through the Right Thinking Process

Opening a special discussion on recruitment processes, Çetinkaya stated that the most important factor they look for in candidates is an impressive portfolio and offered practical recommendations to students. He emphasized that a portfolio should accurately reflect not only the designer’s technical skills but also their thinking process.
