Held on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye and the 10th anniversary of Istinye University, Welcome Fest 2025 Alumni & Student Gathering brought the university community together under one roof. Taking place on October 25, 2025, at the Vadi Main Campus, the event featured the sharing of the university’s 2030 Vision goals, fostering dialogue among students, alumni, and academics about the future. The gathering also stood out as a special vision-sharing event that embraced the enthusiasm of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations.
Istinye Community United in the Spirit of Republic Day
The program began with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem. Following this, a Republic Day message was delivered, accompanied by a specially prepared slide presentation celebrating the 102nd anniversary of the Republic.
Representing the alumni, Sena Onuk, a double major graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, and currently a Lecturer in the Pharmacy Services Program, took the stage for the opening remarks. Onuk highlighted the role of her education at İstinye University in her personal and professional development, advising students to make the most of their university years.
Alumni Experience Inspires Students
The event continued with the opening speech of Istinye University Rector Prof. Dr. Erkan İbiş. Emphasizing the importance of bringing alumni and students together, Prof. Dr. İbiş stated:
“Welcome Fest is not only a gathering but also a platform for sharing visions. When the experience of our alumni meets the energy of our students, a strong synergy for the future emerges. Seeing this unity in our 10th anniversary year is a great source of pride for us. Istinye will continue to be a university that shapes the future, drawing strength from its past.”
Looking Ahead to New Initiatives
The event featured a series of presentations sharing the university’s strategic goals and future direction. Prof. Dr. Peyami Çelikcan, in his presentation “İSÜ Network Initiatives”, discussed ongoing efforts to strengthen engagement among alumni and foster meaningful connections between graduates and current students.
Following this, Prof. Dr. Hatice Gülen delivered a presentation titled “Vision 2030”, in which she outlined İstinye University’s future goals in research, innovation, sustainability, and social contribution.
