Istinye University Faculty of Communication member Dr. Özgenur Reyhan Güler took part as an invited speaker at Sorbonne University within the framework of the EU-supported COST Action K-PERITIA (Cultural Expertise) project.
K-PERITIA Project: Bringing Cultural Expertise to the European Agenda
The K-PERITIA project brings together academics, researchers, and experts from different European countries with the aim of examining the role of cultural expertise in law, politics, migration, and society. Within the scope of the project, work is carried out on:
Defining the concept of cultural expertise and developing it with contemporary examples,
Analyzing how cultural knowledge is used in legal and political processes,
Discussing the role of cultural expertise in areas such as migration, minority rights, and social conflict,
Preparing comparative reports on the application of cultural expertise across Europe.
New Approaches from Dr. Güler on the Intercultural Communication
At the Sorbonne meeting, Dr. Güler presented new perspectives on the communication aspect of cultural expertise, the management of perception in migration processes, and the contributions of cultural diplomacy. Representing both Türkiye and Istinye University, Dr. Güler contributed academically to the project while also advancing the university’s international vision.
Emphasis on International Collaboration
Highlighting the continuity of her work through future publications and projects, Dr. Güler underlined the importance of international collaborations in producing common solutions within the academic world.
